Bagel ideas
Three flavour variations will satisfy fans of salmon, classic deli meats, and crispy bacon. Add some vegetables and sauces, and you'll have a breakfast that even a restaurant would envy. You can purchase the rolls at the store or make them yourself.
This recipe is perfect for a leisurely weekend breakfast or a satisfying work lunch. Whether served hot, cold, or generously filled, these bagels fit seamlessly into your daily menu. Fresh avocado, delicate ham, and flavourful lamb's lettuce; tender salmon, sweet red onion, and slightly tangy cream cheese; or the classic combination of bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese are simple and tasty options to enhance your breakfast.
Ingredients:
Version 1:
- 1 egg,
- 1 bagel,
- 40 g avocado spread,
- 2 slices of ham,
- 1 handful of lamb’s lettuce,
- 2 slices of tomato,
Version 2:
- 1 egg,
- 1 bagel,
- 40 g cream cheese,
- 20 g smoked salmon,
- 10 g red onion,
- half a teaspoon of lemon juice.
Version 3:
- 40 g sliced bacon,
- 1 egg,
- 1 bagel,
- 1 teaspoon of ketchup,
- 1 leaf of lettuce,
- 2 slices of cheddar cheese.
Preparation Method:
Bagel with ham: Heat a small amount of oil in a pan. Crack the egg, separating the white. Pour the egg white into the pan and place half the bagel onto it. Place the other half in the hole, along with placing the yolk. Remove from the pan when the egg white sets.
Season the egg white base with salt and pepper, then spread the mashed avocado. Add ham, lamb's lettuce, and tomato, and cover with the bagel half containing the yolk.
Bagel with salmon: Spread cream cheese on the bottom half of the bagel. Add lamb's lettuce and smoked salmon, then drizzle with lemon juice. Top with red onion. Pour in the egg white, place the top part of the bagel, and crack the yolk into the hole. When the egg is cooked, assemble the sandwich.
Bagel with bacon: Fry the bacon slices in a pan until crispy. Prepare the roll as in the salmon version—fry the top part with the egg white and yolk in the hole. Spread ketchup on the bottom part, add lettuce, cheddar, and bacon, and cover with the top. Enjoy!
