In his Wednesday video address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that before signing the agreement with the U.S. on the partnership in exploiting Ukrainian natural resources, he expects security assurances for his country. Zelensky also confirmed his visit to Washington, scheduled for this upcoming Friday.

- Guarantees of peace and security are key to preventing Russia from destroying the lives of other nations – emphasized the President of Ukraine.

- It is important for me and all of us around the world that America's help does not cease – he added.

USA-Ukraine agreement

The full version of the document has already appeared online. It envisages the creation of a Reconstruction Fund, aimed at supporting the country's rebuilding and stabilizing its economy. The fund will be mainly financed from revenues derived from Ukrainian natural resources, such as oil, gas, and minerals, 50% of which will go to the fund. Additionally, financial support from the U.S. is planned in the form of funds and financial instruments.

On Tuesday, former President Donald Trump told journalists that he heard Zelensky is coming to the White House on Friday, hoping that the agreement will be signed. However, Trump did not say that Zelensky has been formally invited.

- It is expected that his arrival aims to acknowledge the final position on the agreement, an official is quoted by the agency, referring to Zelensky's statements. The source emphasizes, however, that judging from Zelensky's words, he himself does not yet have a "final position" on this matter.
