  • Eleven civilians died in Venezuela during demonstrations against the re-election of Nicolás Maduro, according to information presented by several non-governmental organizations dealing with human rights in that country. According to these organizations, five people died during protests in the capital of Venezuela, Caracas. "We are concerned about the use of firearms during these demonstrations," said Alfredo Romero, director of the non-governmental organization Foro Penal, specifying that among the casualties were two minors.
  • Riots occurred in Southport, England. A policeman was injured, and a police car was set on fire. Several hundred people gathered near the place where a knife attack occurred the day before. The demonstrators wanted to honour with a minute of silence the children and their caregivers who were killed and injured. A protest that was initially peaceful got out of control, reports BBC. Masked individuals began throwing stones, bricks, and bottles towards a nearby mosque.
  • As a result of a retaliatory attack carried out by Israel on Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, Fuad Shukur was killed, the Israeli military said in a statement. He served as the chief military commander in the ranks of Hezbollah. The airstrike carried out by Israeli forces took place Tuesday at 3 PM Eastern Time and was targeted against Shukur, who was responsible for an attack on the Golan Heights area controlled by Israel. As a result of that attack, which took place on Saturday, 12 people lost their lives.
