Ukrainian woman captures missile strike in Dnipro; five dead
A Ukrainian woman captured the moment on her phone when a Russian missile struck a shopping centre in Dnipro. Authorities report five casualties. Thirty-four people were injured, with two in serious condition.

An alarm in the Dnipropetrovsk region sounded around 3 a.m. Eastern Time. Moments later, media reported that a massive explosion occurred in the city.

The Russians attacked the city with missiles and drones.
"Four people have died", informed Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, before 6 a.m. He added that the number of injured had risen to 34.
"One-third of them are in the hospital. People mostly have shrapnel wounds and cuts, bruises, and fractures," read a post on Telegram.
Zelensky reacts to the attack
One of the Ukrainian women who was near the shopping centre recorded the moment of the Russian missile strike. Media speculate that the missile was shot down by Ukrainian air defence. Authorities have not confirmed this yet.
In another recording, we can see terrified people fleeing by car away from the site of the explosion. Clouds of black smoke rise behind them.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky responded to the attack, writing that the number of victims rose to five. "My condolences to the family and friends. Thirty-four people were injured, including a child. All necessary units of the State Emergency Service are involved in the operation, and rescuers are providing assistance to all the injured," he wrote.
"Only two things can stop Russian terror – modern air defence systems and the long range of our weapons. The world can protect lives and requires the determination of leaders. Determination that can and must make security from terrorism a norm again," Zelensky added.
