Ukrainian forces strike Russian HQ in Donetsk with precision drone attack
The 47th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shared online their successful strike on a Russian headquarters in the town of Solovei in the Donetsk region. A reconnaissance drone first identified a large group of military personnel, leading to a precise strike with a kamikaze drone that entered the building through a window.
Combat drone operators from the 47th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine detected around 20 Russian soldiers moving towards a barn in Solovei (Donetsk region northwest of Avdiivka). They believed it might serve as a local headquarters, a first-aid station, or a logistics base.
A kamikaze drone's entry through a window leads to an explosion
As a significant number of Russian troops assembled inside, they were targeted by a kamikaze drone that penetrated the building through a window. This was followed by a powerful explosion and fire, suggesting it was unlikely many survived. It's estimated that approximately 20 enemy soldiers were killed or injured.
The video was likely recorded on Sunday or Monday.
Russian forces advance into the Kharkiv region
On Tuesday evening, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that due to intense shelling and a Russian onslaught, Ukrainian forces repositioned to more strategic locations in the Lukianka and Wovchansk areas in the Kharkiv region.
The Staff reported that in the Lukianka and Wovchansk sectors, the units relocated to more advantageous positions to protect soldiers' lives and reduce losses after facing the enemy's firepower and assault. The battle is ongoing. Ukrainian forces effectively prevent Russian invaders from consolidating positions with ongoing counter-offensive operations and relentless artillery and defence force cover.
Additionally, the head of Ukrainian military intelligence, HUR General Kyrylo Budanov, mentioned that the Kyiv forces are nearing a stabilization point after a land assault by Russia in the Kharkiv region. However, he alerted to the concentration of Russian troops to the north, near the Sumy region.
