The Ukrainian armed forces are taking all possible measures to prevent Russian troops from capturing Pokrovsk. Oleksandr Syrsky, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, emphasized their determination to defend the city in an interview with military correspondent Andriy Tsaplienko. "The enemy is trying hard to grab (Pokrovsk—ed.), and we are doing everything to defend it, to prevent its capture," Syrsky assured the Ukrinform agency.

Syrsky pointed out that the Russian army is concentrating its best units in Pokrovsk. "Some prophets said that we would lose Pokrovsk on September 30. September 30 passed, and then they said that we would lose it by October 30," he added. He observed that the occupiers deployed their most elite units to this region. The Russians can rotate their forces, giving them an advantage in offensive operations.

According to Ukrinform, Syrsky shared with members of the NATO Military Committee his insights on the potential plans of the Russian army and the steps the Armed Forces of Ukraine are taking to counter them.
