Armed Forces of Ukraine have published a video showing the destruction of additional Russian crossings in the Kursk region. Thanks to these actions, the Ukrainians managed to cut off part of the Gluskovo district from the rest of the region.

Special forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published a video of their operations in the Kursk region on social media. It's a compilation of recordings showing how Ukrainians destroy subsequent crossings on the Seim River. One of the pontoon bridges was bombed while still under construction.

The video also captured the targeting and destruction of a military equipment depot: weapons and fuel.

Ukrainians aim to encircle the Russians

Russian units defending the territory in the Kursk region squeezed between the Seim River and the border with Ukraine, are at risk of encirclement after Ukraine destroyed the bridges. The crossings were the units' only supply and retreat routes, writes "The New York Times," commenting that the Armed Forces of Ukraine want to lure the Russians "into a trap." "The bombing of bridges, in contrast, takes aim at land between the Seym River, the border and an area inside Russia already controlled by Ukraine, with the potential to entrap the Russian forces positioned there. Three bridges span this stretch of river, all now destroyed or damaged, according to statements released by the Ukrainian Air Force and to social media posts by Russian officials and military commentators," the newspaper reads.

Ukrainian forces destroyed the first bridge in the Gluskovo district on Friday and the second on Sunday. The last of the bridges fell on Monday.

As NYT notes, it is unknown how many Russian soldiers remain in the area between the Seim River and the border with Ukraine. However, if the Armed Forces approach the river's bank, they will have an unquestionable advantage in the form of a natural barrier against any Russian counterattack.
