Ukrainian defences intercept 24 of 31 Russian aerial threats

Last night, Ukrainian air defence successfully destroyed seven Russian missiles and 17 drones targeting the eastern, southern, and central regions of Ukraine. This information was disclosed on Friday morning by the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, General Mykola Oleshchuk.

General Oleshchuk emphasized that Russia used 14 missiles launched from both the air and the ground, along with 17 unmanned aerial vehicles. He shared this information on his social media profile.

What is Russia attacking with?

He detailed the types of missiles and drones Russia used. According to his report, the Russians launched 10 Kh-101 and Kh-55 cruise missiles from strategic aviation aircraft that took off from Russia's Saratov region.

Additionally, three ballistic missiles were fired from occupied Crimea and Russia's Krasnodar Krai, and one Kinzhal missile was launched from Russia's Tambov region. The attack also involved 17 Iranian-made Shahed 131 and Shahed 136 drones, which took off from the vicinity of Russia's Yeysk.

General Oleshchuk also reported that 24 aerial targets were shot down in air battles in the Khmelnytskyi, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kirovohrad regions. These included seven Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and 17 Shahed-131/136 assault drones.

Currently, there is no information on the impact of the Russian attacks involving the seven missiles that were not intercepted.
