Trump's presidential diet: A taste for fast food over fine dining
What are Donald Trump's dietary preferences? American media have set out to answer this question. The new President of the United States often opts for meals that differ from those served to other guests at the White House.

While most guests at dinners in the White House enjoy a standard menu, Donald Trump chooses food tailored to his preferences. As former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski writes in the book "Let Trump Be Trump," President Trump receives different dishes. For example, he prefers Thousand Island dressing with his salad instead of the traditional vinaigrette. When chicken is served, the president also gets an additional dish with sauce. For dessert, Trump receives two scoops of vanilla ice cream, while other guests only get one.
Everyday meals from fast food
Lewandowski reveals that Trump often skips breakfast, but when he decides to eat, he chooses eggs with bacon. For lunch, he would often have meatloaf or a well-done steak with ketchup. Trump's evening menu might include two Big Mac burgers from McDonald's, two Filet-O-Fish sandwiches, and a small chocolate shake. Such a meal contains about 2,430 calories. When he craved something different, he would opt for KFC chicken.
The reason Trump prefers fast food may stem from his fear of poisoning. According to Michael Wolff’s book "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House," Trump "had a longtime fear of being poisoned," which made him particularly fond of "junk food." As he explained in 2016 during a debate that "nobody knew he was coming and the food was safely premade Trump emphasizes that large franchises maintain standards – "one bad hamburger, you can destroy McDonald’s."
