Elections in the USA. Georgia votes for Trump. Reaction in the CNN studio

The news that Donald Trump is winning in Georgia caused an immediate reaction in the studio of the American TV station CNN. Presenter Jake Tapper looked stunned when he saw that the support for the Republican reached as high as 54 percent.

The information was conveyed to Tapper by political director David Chalian. Four years ago, post-election polls showed that Joe Biden was leading over Trump among independent voters by nine percentage points. Now there has been a complete turnaround - Trump leads by eleven percentage points in the key voter group in the state of Georgia. This represents a 20 percentage-point shift in favour of the former president.

Wow! - exclaimed the astonished presenter upon seeing this data.

When Biden won in Georgia in 2020, he was the first Democratic candidate since 1992, when the state mostly voted for Bill Clinton. Not only was Tapper surprised by this result. "I'm trying to understand why," Chris Wallace, co-host of the program, admitted—voting in the USA.
