Donald Trump once again returned to discussing the failed attempt on his life. The Republican candidate stated that the attack "is to a certain extent the fault of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris."

Trump argued in an interview that despite his campaign's efforts, the security level provided by the Secret Service during his rallies was not sufficient. "I think to some extent it's Biden and Harris's fault. I am their opponent. They used the apparatus of power as a weapon against me (...). They weren't very interested in my health and safety," Trump said.

The Republican candidate suggested that Biden and Harris, with their rhetoric accusing him of endangering democracy, might have inspired the attacker.

"It was their standard line, just keep saying it and you know it could motivate killers or potential killers. Maybe that bullet was the result of their rhetoric," he stated.

Failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump

On July 13, during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, Trump became the target of a failed assassination attempt. Twenty-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired a shot at the former president from a distance of 148 yards, injuring his ear.

The attacker was shot dead by a Secret Service sniper. During a congressional hearing, the director of this service, Kimberly Cheatle, ultimately resigned.

Congress is conducting the investigation into possible negligence, and Trump has already announced that if he is elected President of the USA, he will appoint a special committee to investigate all the circumstances of the July 13 assassination attempt.
