Timing and technique: Mastering the art of armpit shaving

Shaving armpits is a common practice among women, but not everyone realizes that certain guidelines should be followed to avoid skin irritation. First and foremost, the time of day when you perform this procedure matters.

A popular method for smooth armpits is using a razor, although this can lead to micro-damage, such as cuts, ingrown hairs, or red bumps. To avoid these, you should follow some guidelines; the process will then become more skin-friendly.

When is the best time to shave armpits?

It turns out that the best time to shave your armpits is in the evening. This is because the skin has the opportunity to naturally regenerate overnight. On the other hand, shaving in the morning can lead to irritation, especially when you immediately apply deodorant to freshly shaved skin.

How long to use a disposable razor?

You should not shave "dry" or only with water. This increases the risk of irritation. It is definitely better to use shower gel or special shaving foam, which facilitates this process.

When shaving with a disposable razor, it should be done in the direction of hair growth. After shaving, apply a moisturizing cream with aloe or panthenol to help soothe irritation.

It is also important how we store used razors. After each use, it's worth drying them and storing them in a dry place to reduce the risk of bacteria developing on the blades. Also remember that disposable razors should not be used for more than a week as intended.
