The hidden function of frying pan handles revealed

It's hard to imagine a kitchen without a frying pan. It's one of those essential tools that can be used at any time of the day. You might think there aren't many secrets to using one. However, if you look at the handle, you'll notice a hole at the end. What's it for?

This isn't a random design choice or a designer's wild vision, but a practical, well-thought-out solution. On a daily basis, few people pay attention to this, and even fewer realize what the holes at the end of the handle can actually be used for. Once you discover this function, you'll find it very handy.

Holes in the frying pan handle

Choosing a frying pan is a personal choice, as it depends on the surface on which it will be used. Some opt for Teflon, while others go for cast iron or ceramic. It's worth paying attention to one often overlooked detail that all these types share - a small hole in the handle that can make cooking significantly easier.

Most people assume it's for hanging the pan. However, that's not its only function. While cooking, when both hands are occupied, and the stove is full of pots, the hole in the frying pan handle proves to be extremely useful. You can rest a spoon in it, which simplifies your work and helps keep the kitchen tidy. This keeps the countertop clean, and the cook does not doubt about which spoon should be used for what.

How to clean the bottom of a frying pan?

The handle hole will help keep the countertop tidy, but after frying, the dirty bottom of the frying pan might still be a problem. Baking soda, invaluable not only in baking, comes to the rescue. Mix it with water to create a thick paste.

Thoroughly cover the burnt spots on the pan with the paste. After a few hours, generously spray the paste with vinegar. Watch as it foams - this is a sign that the baking soda and vinegar effectively remove the dirt. Then, using a hard sponge or brush, remove the residue and thoroughly rinse the pan with warm water. Stubborn stains will disappear without much effort.
