Rebels armed with heavy weapons. The situation in the city is "tense"
A rebel commander posted a recorded message on social media, in which he urged the residents of Aleppo to cooperate with the advancing forces. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights highlights that the situation in the city is tense.
The Syrian army reported that it is facing a "major attack" carried out by "terrorist organizations" armed with heavy weapons and drones.
This is the first time rebels have entered Aleppo, the country's second-largest city, since government forces recaptured it in 2016.
