Sandra Bullock's return? 'Practical Magic 2' in the works
The adventure romantic comedy "The Lost City" was promoted as Sandra Bullock's farewell film. This was not just a marketing tactic; the actress has not been seen in any films since March 2022. Viewers clearly miss her, as shown by the popularity of her film.
During the promotional conference for "The Lost City," Sandra Bullock announced her decision to pause her acting career and withdraw from public life. "I’m going to take some time off to be a mother to Louis and Laila. I’ll get back to it. I don’t know when. Probably when they’re teenagers, 16- or 17-years old," said the 57-year-old Hollywood star at the time.
The actress has two adopted children who are still some years away from adulthood. Her son, Louis, is 14 years old, and her daughter, Laila, is 12 years old. However, it appears Bullock might not remain on her "maternity leave" for too many more years. Preparations for the production of "Practical Magic 2" are underway, featuring both stars from the 1998 original—Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock.
Meanwhile, viewers of the Max movie service can catch "The Lost City."
"The Lost City" is often compared to the famous '80s hit, "Romancing the Stone." There are many similarities, as it features a renowned romance novelist living in a world of fantasy. She writes extensively about love and adventure but leads a life lacking in strong emotions and feelings. The situation dramatically changes when she is abducted along with the cover model of her books (a role in which Channing Tatum makes his return to Hollywood).
The adventure movie was a big hit in theatres. During the challenging post-pandemic period for films, it grossed close to CAD 288 million at the box office. "Very enjoyable entertainment cinema," wrote critics about the film.
