The ballistic missile was likely launched from the Kapustin Yar training range in the Astrakhan region. It was directed towards the city of Dnipro. The estimated launch time was 10:12 PM Eastern Time. So far, the Ukrainian Air Force has not provided more information.
It is known, however, that the intercontinental ballistic missile was not shot down.
The statement from the Ukrainian army does not specify what type of intercontinental missile was used in the attack. At the moment, it is not possible to verify the truthfulness of the Ukrainian army's claims, reports Wirtualna Polska.
The announcement stated that the Russians also conducted an attack using a Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missile, as well as seven Kh-101 missiles, six of which were shot down.
The missiles were initially directed towards Kyiv. They then changed course to Poltava, ultimately striking the Dnipropetrovsk region. Following this incident, emergency power outages were implemented in several regions, affecting the Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions.
Additionally, it was reported that the target of the attack in Dnipro was an industrial enterprise. Two fires broke out in the city.
At least three people were killed in Thursday's attack on Ukraine, with another 22 injured.
