Residents of the northern part of Tulcea County, situated at the border with Ukraine, were informed via the RO-Alert system about the risk of falling debris from Russian drones that were being shot down by Ukrainian air defences.

The messages conveyed by the RO-Alert system are primarily aimed at informing the public and preventing potential threats, emphasized by the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations in Tulcea.

Residents were urged to remain calm, keep composed, and follow instructions. If they feel threatened or need support, they can contact the emergency number, 911.

F-16 fighter jets scrambled

The same warnings were sent to the public the night before. At that time, the alerts were also related to Russian military activities near the Romanian-Ukrainian border.

According to information from the Romanian Ministry of Defence, F-16 fighter jets from the Borcea base were scrambled to monitor the air situation. A search was also ordered in the Plauru area to locate potential objects.
