Gere no longer lives in the USA. Last year, with his wife and two sons, they moved to Spain. His Spanish wife was behind this decision, and Gere decided to leave the United States.
They sold their house for $11 million (CAD 16 million) and headed to Europe. The actor explained that he owed it to his wife.
