Revisiting 'Speed': Bullock and Reeves spark reunion buzz

It's been 30 years since Bullock and Reeves formed an electrifying duo on screen, portraying a couple trying to control a bus speeding through the streets. Does their meeting after all these years herald great news for fans?

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the premiere of the cult action movie "Speed," its stars — Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock — met at a special event in Los Angeles where fans could ask them questions. So, did the question about the chances of the actors reuniting on set again come up?

Sandra Bullock wondered if it was possible to create a new production that would meet the expectations of today's audiences. "It would require a lot from everybody. I don't know if we're in an industry anymore that's willing to tolerate it and be brave enough to do it," Bullock added.

This isn't the first time they have faced this question. Some time ago, she and Keanu were guests on a podcast, and the "Matrix" star enthusiastically said, "We'd crush it!" Bullock was not equally convinced, only diplomatically stating that she would be happy to act alongside Keanu again.

"Speed." An action movie classic

The first "Speed" film debuted in 1994 and became a legend of action cinema. It received three Oscar nominations and won awards for sound editing and best sound. The film earned ten times its budget in theatres. Three years later, the sequel was made: "Speed 2: Cruise Control", but unfortunately, it didn't measure up to the first one. Reeves did not participate in it. The film was so poorly received that it received a Razzie Award for the worst remake. Both movies are now available on Disney+.
