The last few months have not been kind to the British royals. In February, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III is battling cancer and must focus on fighting for recovery. Shortly thereafter, Duchess Kate revealed in a memorable recording that she had received an equally devastating diagnosis and would undergo chemotherapy.
Important words from Prince William about the illness of his wife and father
Since then, the situation has improved, and the famous family's life is slowly improving. In the meantime, Prince William has taken on many duties, supporting his loved ones behind the scenes in their battle with illness. Kate Middleton's husband no longer wants to hide that it was an exceptionally difficult time for him, and in his new statement, he showed his "human" side.
William diligently fulfilled his royal duties and hosted the Earthshot Prize awards ceremony in South Africa, where he attended the event at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time. At the end of the visit, he had the opportunity to speak with reporters present at the event. One of the topics discussed was precisely the health recovery of his wife and father, and the royal made a poignant confession, as reported by the BBC.
It's been dreadful. It's probably been the hardest year in my life. So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult.
He also expressed pride in the resilience of Kate and Charles, who have also had several exceptionally challenging months.
I'm so proud of my wife, I'm proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done. But from a personal family point of view, it's been brutal.
