Prada steps into space: Crafting lunar suits for Artemis III
In 2026, humanity will set off to the Moon again, and one of the key elements of this mission will be an innovative space suit designed by the Italian fashion house Prada. This unique suit will protect astronauts during the planned Artemis III mission, part of a broad space exploration program organized by NASA.

Prada, a global fashion giant known for its luxury clothing collections, is now focusing on functionality, combining its unique approach to design with advanced technology. The collaboration with Axiom Space, an American company specializing in space technology, aims to create a suit that can withstand the harsh conditions on the Moon's surface.
Innovative technology protecting against dust and temperature
The space suit designed by Prada not only reflects heat but, above all, protects astronauts from extreme temperatures and dangerous lunar dust, which is one of the most serious threats to lunar missions.
This dust, extremely fine and with sharp edges, can damage equipment and harm astronauts' health. The Prada design considers these factors, offering solutions that will enable astronauts to have extended stays in space.
Prada has designed a suit for the Moon landing, scheduled for 2026. The suit was created with NASA's Artemis III mission in mind. It will reflect heat and protect astronauts from high temperatures and lunar dust. The suit will allow astronauts to stay in space for 8 hours, as reported by Nexta on platform X.
Preparations for the Artemis III mission
The Artemis III mission, aimed at returning humans to the Moon's surface after more than 50 years, will be a historic event. This time NASA plans to land in the lunar south pole region, which aims to provide valuable information about the resources and conditions there. A key element of this endeavour will be modern equipment, and Prada's innovative suit will play a significant role in it.
