With the influx of tourists arriving in Paris for the Olympic Games, the French police have declared war on prostitution there. According to reports from TMZ magazine, a special anti-pimping brigade has been formed to carry out a special operation and ensure the safety of tourists.

The Paris police press office told the aforementioned source that officers are doing everything to get rid of illegal sexual services in the French capital. The police are focusing on curbing pimping in the areas of Bois de Vincennes and Bois de Boulogne, as well as near Belleville.

TMZ reports that the metropolitan police in Paris have created a special brigade called BRP, which will be responsible, among other things, for patrolling the aforementioned areas and monitoring nightclubs. According to reports, special anti-sexual regulations are to be established there to help combat pimping.

Representatives of the city of Paris and the local prosecutor's office are also helping in the matter, working with the police to implement preventive measures and raise public awareness about the situation.

Interestingly, several non-profit organizations have spoken out on behalf of sex workers ahead of the Olympic Games. They believe that prior repression hurts the health and safety of people providing such services.

France 24 reports that charitable organizations are calling on authorities to pay less attention to sex workers and focus on dismantling criminal groups that they claim rob, rape, and assault them. They also argue that few sex workers have arrived in Paris for the Olympic Games due to high accommodation costs.
