The details of this upcoming change in the Snipping Tool are highlighted by the service Neowin. The new feature can already be seen in test versions of Windows 11 on the Dev and Beta channels in the Insider program. The Snipping Tool can recognize a table within the selected area of the screen and copy the data contained within, effectively "extracting" it for further use, such as in Excel.
According to Microsoft's official announcement, the Snipping Tool can currently recognize a maximum of one table visible in a selected area. Judging by the provided screenshots, the program is able to recognize the entire structure of the table, including headers and data types.
While testing in the Insider program, it is not yet certain when the new feature for the Snipping Tool will be available in the stable release of Windows 11. It is expected to arrive in the coming months. The system has recently received updates in Moment packages that are released a few times yearly. Recently, Microsoft has been focused on the release of Windows 11 24H2, which also introduced several new features.
