Lemon hack: Transform rough heels overnight with ease
Calloused and unsightly heels can be a real nuisance, no matter the season. Often, we don't have time to book a pedicure, or there's simply not enough money in the household budget. This doesn't mean we have to live with the problem! You can use a simple method with an ingredient you likely already have in your fridge!
To care for our feet, we often buy more ointments and creams from drugstores. Instead, it's worth saving money and trying a home method. It costs practically nothing, and the effects will be fantastic. You only need one ingredient. Which one? Lemon.
It's citrus season, and you can find beautiful mandarins, oranges, and lemons in stores. They're worth using not only for eating, snacking, or adding to winter tea, but they also work wonders in home care.
Use lemon this way. The effect is impressive!
Due to lemon's high acid content, its juice will soften the skin of your feet. However, you need to be very careful—if your heels are cracked and lemon juice gets into those cracks, the sensation can be quite unpleasant.
You can use the whole lemon for foot care to be more eco-friendly. How? First, squeeze out all the juice, which can be used for cooking or cleaning. Then, use the peel with some pulp inside for a cosmetic treatment.
Lemon compress overnight. What will it work on?
Apply the peel to the callused skin of your heels, wrap it with a bandage, or put on a sock, and go to sleep. In the morning, remove the compress and rinse your skin. It should be softened and lightened overnight. This method also works on corns. It's important to remember that lemon has antiseptic properties and can speed up healing, but you must be careful not to use it on open wounds, abrasions, or skin cracks as this will be quite painful.
