Kurganmashzavod, a Russian company that produces military equipment, has published a short video. In it, they depict preparing new transport vehicles intended for Putin's army. The cars featured are the infantry fighting vehicles BMP-3 and BMD-4M, whose capabilities are highlighted in the video.

The Kurganmashzavod plants, situated in Kurgan within the Kurgan region, have been earmarked for increased production following the onset of the war in Ukraine. The Russian authorities have already noted shipments supporting units of the Russian army engaged in the conflict in Ukraine. The batch of BMP-3 and BMD-4M vehicles is expected to be deployed to the front soon.

The BMP-3, an infantry fighting vehicle, commenced production in 1987 and is a specialized product of Kurganmashzavod. Its unique design has been developed from the lightweight, amphibious tank Object 685. This results in one of BMP-3's main drawbacks: its relatively low armour durability. Moreover, it has a tank-like design with the engine at the rear and the ammunition not isolated from the crew, presenting a significant risk if struck by enemy fire.

The BMP-3 is significantly better equipped in terms of armament. It features a low-pressure 100mm calibre gun, an anti-tank missile launcher, an automatic 30mm cannon, and 7.62mm machine guns. Additionally, with a weight of about 19,000 kg and a length of over 7 meters, the BMP-3 has a 500 HP engine and can reach a maximum speed of about 70 km/h on land and about 10 km/h in water.

The BMD-4M, a more recent design, saw its prototypes in 2008, though production began in 2015. Like the BMP-3, the BMD-4M is tracked and powered by a 500 HP engine. It is lighter, at approximately 13,000 kg, accommodating its design for parachute drops. Still, it also achieves similar speeds to the BMP-3, with maximums around 70 km/h on land and about 10 km/h on water. Its armament includes a 2A70 100mm calibre launcher, an automatic 30mm cannon, and a 7.62mm machine gun.
