Besides being a brand in their own right, each of the entrepreneurial Kardashian-Jenner sisters also owns their own businesses. Kim has her signature shapewear, Kylie has a line of cosmetics and, more recently, clothing, Khloe designs jeans, while Kendall owns a tequila brand.
Kourtney Kardashian, on the other hand, is trying to conquer the dietary supplement market. As the oldest daughter of Kris Jenner, she has been running Lemme for the past two years, selling, among other things, gummies for better sleep, capsules for intimate odour, and "glow" lollipops.
Kourtney Kardashian introduces 'Ozempic-style' dietary supplements
Recently, the millionaire announced the introduction of a new product. This time, she encourages fans to purchase her signature weight loss pills. American media have already written extensively about the product, calling it an 'Ozempic-style' supplement. The pills' name references the popular diabetes drug GLP-1, which stands for glucagon-like peptide 1, an incretin hormone secreted in the small intestine after a meal.
Introducing Lemme GLP-1 Daily. A breakthrough innovation in metabolic health, formulated to naturally boost your body’s GLP-1 production, reduce appetite, and promote healthy weight loss - reads the caption of a photo posted on Instagram teasing Kourtney's new supplement.
Since Lemme’s launch, we’ve heard from thousands of you looking for a natural GLP-1 solution without side effects. That's why we developed Lemme GLP-1 Daily - an all-natural supplement with no known side effects, powered by 3 clinically tested ingredients: Eriomin Lemon Fruit Extract, Supresa Saffron Extract, and Morosil Blood Orange Fruit Extract - it reads.
The product description emphasizes that unlike drugs such as Ozempic, Lemme GLP-1 Daily does not contain synthetic GLP-1 hormone and is not a GLP-1 agonist drug.
Expert evaluates Kourtney Kardashian's weight loss supplements
"Page Six" asked a dietitian for her opinion on whether the pills could actually work.
No supplement can come close to mimicking the effects of the GLP-1 agonist medications like Ozempic and Wegovy - notes Lauren Harris-Pincus, making a pecular comparison: It’s like the difference between an eye dropper and a garden hose.
When asked if consumers should be cautious about using Kourtney's pills, she responds:
This supplement probably won’t harm most people, except for their wallets.
The expert clearly does not believe that Kourtney's supplements could make a real difference.
There are a plethora of supplements claiming to act like a natural Ozempic, and it’s unlikely they will result in any real, sustained weight loss.
Harris-Pincus encourages simply changing one's diet and lifestyle. She advises eating fibre-rich foods, which "stimulate natural GLP-1 and help keep us full."
Remember, diabetes medications taken by healthy individuals are causing havoc lately, and the internet is filled with stories about the dangerous and life-threatening side effects of taking them.
