Katie Piper's journey: From acid attack survivor to BAFTA radiance

Katie Piper was an up-and-coming television presenter and had made significant strides in the fashion industry. She was attractive, intelligent, and full of big plans for the future. The man kidnapped Katie, held and raped her. But that wasn't all. On March 31, 2008, she was doused with acid and barely escaped with her life. Her ex-partner orchestrated the attack. To recover, Piper underwent approximately 400 reconstructive surgeries to heal her burns and repair her digestive system, including a face transplant.

Despite the profound trauma and immense suffering, Katie chose to pursue her dreams in her personal and professional life. Today, she is a joyful wife and mother of two.

Katie founded her charity and has published 8 books, offering guidance and motivation for those dealing with various traumas and life challenges. She has also made several appearances on television shows.

At this year's BAFTA gala, the former model looked exceptionally elegant. Piper dazzled in a black and white strapless ball gown that showcased her shoulders and cleavage. She complemented her look with a necklace of diamonds and rubies. Katie's hair was styled in a sleek bun, and her makeup highlighted her eyes while her lips remained luminous and natural.

Though the scars from the burns are still visible on Katie Piper's body and face, the former model chooses not to hide them.
