Is America poised for post-election turmoil?

The German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung has reported that if Donald Trump narrowly loses the presidential election, the United States should brace itself for potential upheaval. According to the publication, dissatisfied supporters of the Republican candidate could instigate disorder throughout the country.

According to experts, Donald Trump will not come to terms with a possible defeat.

The article explains that Donald Trump has been setting the stage for months, persistently telling his supporters that a loss would only be possible through electoral fraud. This strategy aims to cast doubt on any unfavourable election outcomes.

Is the USA facing chaos?

The newspaper points out that discontented Trump supporters might take to the streets and create chaos. "One doesn't need much imagination to envisage what an uprising by a crowd, incited by Trump, could resemble in a nation with nearly 400 million firearms. There's a risk of chaos and violence of a magnitude the USA has only seen in films so far," cautions Süddeutsche Zeitung.

"Although it sounds harsh, if Trump loses the election, the state must be prepared for potential aggression, because the internal adversary, so frequently mentioned by Trump lately — is himself," the newspaper noted.

The report suggests that the United States is facing a challenging predicament. "If Trump loses the election, especially if by a narrow margin, the USA must prepare for the worst. And should he win, the stakes may be even higher," concluded Süddeutsche Zeitung.
