Paving stones are an exceptionally durable material used in home gardens. Many people decide to pave their driveways with it, among other things. Unfortunately, grass and weeds often appear in the gaps between the individual blocks, which look unsightly and can lead to unevenness.
Instead of struggling and spending many hours on your knees picking out moss, grass, and weeds, it's worth using a homemade spray. You will eliminate the trouble quickly, and the home paving stones will remain elegant for longer.
Homemade Weed Spray
Although garden stores sell many products designed to fight weeds, it's worth trying a homemade mixture first. It’s efficient, effective, and inexpensive since you only need two ingredients.
To prepare a homemade spray that effectively combats weeds growing in the gaps of paving stones, just vinegar and water mixed in a 2:1 ratio, or about 2 cups of vinegar to about 1 cup of water.
It's very important to maintain the correct order and pour the vinegar into the water, not the other way around, following the school principle—"Remember, young chemist, always pour acid into water." If you do it the other way around, the acid will splash everywhere, causing unpleasant consequences.
Spray it on the paving stones. The weeds will disappear quickly
The prepared mixture of water and vinegar should be transferred to a spray bottle and first sprayed on a small area to ensure it does not damage our paving stones. If we do not notice any discolouration, we spray the gaps from which the weeds are growing, and the vinegar will cause them to dry up quickly.
Doing this on a sunny day is best, as the rays accelerate the drying process. If the weeds reappear between the blocks after a few days, repeat the action. After two or three sprays, however, they should disappear for longer.
