The 25-year-old criticized the Republican representative. Ella Emhoff responded to the politician's interview, in which he pointed out that Harris does not have her own children. The interview appeared in 2021, but after Joe Biden's withdrawal from the presidential race and Kamala Harris being nominated, it gained renewed attention.
J.D. Vance then listed the vice president as one of "a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives."
"How can you be 'childless' when you have cutie pie kids like Cole and I?" Harris's stepdaughter wrote on InstaStories, adding that she "loves her three parents."
Ella also posted a screenshot showing how her mother, Kerstin Emhoff, reacted to a snippet of Vance's interview.
"These are baseless attacks. For over 10 years, since Cole and Ella were teenagers, Kamala has been a co-parent with Doug and I," she wrote in a statement.
"She is loving, nurturing, fiercely protective, and always present. I love our blended family and am grateful to have her (Kamala Harris – ed.) in it," she added.
Who is Kamala Harris's stepdaughter?
Ella Emhoff was born on May 29, 1999, in New York. Her parents are Douglas Emhoff, a lawyer specializing in entertainment law, and Kerstin Emhoff, who works in film production.
After her parents separated in 2014, her father married Kamala Harris, making Ella part of the current US Vice President's family. Ella received her high school education at the exclusive Wildwood School in Los Angeles, where the children of the famous actor Bruce Willis also studied. She then pursued fashion design studies at the renowned Parsons School of Design in New York.
Ella Emhoff is a designer specializing in knitting and creating clothing. Her designs are characterized by extravagance and the combination of various textures and colours.
