It happened while you were sleeping. Here is what global agencies noted from Monday night to Tuesday morning.

  • Two Katyusha rockets were fired toward the Ain al-Asad Air Base in Anbar province in western Iraq, where U.S. troops are stationed. One of the rockets hit the base. At least a few soldiers were injured.
  • Anti-immigrant riots continue in the United Kingdom, which erupted after the murder of three young girls in Southport near Liverpool. On Monday, the seventh day of protests, the most severe riots occurred in Plymouth in southwest England and Birmingham in central England. Several police officers were injured in Plymouth.
  • Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin could not enter Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was scheduled to attend a ceremony on Monday to commemorate Serbian victims of World War II. According to Elmedin Konaković, head of BiH diplomacy, Vulin submitted his request to enter too late.
  • The story of a dolphin is frequently seen in the Thames in London since the media covered Thursday for several days. This marine mammal entered the Thames for unknown reasons and most likely got lost. Unfortunately, this story does not have a happy ending. It turned out that there were two dolphins. On Monday, their remains were found on the riverbank.
