Corey Comperatore, along with his wife and daughter, attended a Donald Trump campaign rally in Pennsylvania. When gunshots rang out, the man shielded his daughter and wife with his own body. His life could not be saved.
Comperatore's funeral took place in Buffalo Township last Friday. He was bid farewell as a hero. The American flag covered the casket with his body. According to the "New York Post," after the service, eight firefighters carried the casket out of Cabot United Methodist Church and placed on a fire truck.
Hundreds of mourners could not hold back their tears as they watched the long funeral procession, which included motorcycles and fire trucks. CBS News indicates that mourners lining the route were dressed in national colours, and many held an American flag.
Before the funeral of the slain firefighter, voices were suggesting that Donald Trump himself might appear at the funeral ceremonies. However, a person from the former president's entourage, quoted by the "Daily Express US," emphasized that security concerns and Secret Service apprehensions dictated his absence.

There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for others — Trump said, highlighting the heroic stance of the deceased.
Earlier, Donald Trump called the widow of the deceased firefighter to offer his condolences on her husband's passing personally. "He was very kind and said he would continue to call me in the days and weeks ahead," — wrote Helen Comperatore on social media.
