Fire engulfs Russian research institute, rescue underway
In the city of Fryazino, near Moscow, Russia, a fire has broken out in the "Platan" research institute building. The institute specializes in the production of electronic parts and radio components. The fire has engulfed four floors, and approximately 10 people are trapped inside. A rescue operation is underway.

According to the Baza channel, the fire started on the 4th and 5th floors of the building. The msk1.ru portal reports that people are trapped inside. "In the recording, you can see them waving from the windows and asking for help, shouting that they are running out of air," the report states.
Research institute in Russia on fire
The research institute is a facility specializing in the production of electronic components and communication devices.
- Firefighters started a rescue operation on the upper floors of the burning Platan Research Institute building in Fryazino near Moscow, informed the rescue services, as quoted by RIA Novosti.
According to channel 112, about 10 people are trapped on the 8th floor of the burning Platan Research Institute.
People trapped in the building
Baza added that at least one person had been injured. "Rescuers can't reach the trapped people; firefighters are preparing a ladder. The fire hasn't been localized yet – the flames are spreading across the floors," the report states.
The governor of the region and the director of the regional unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are on their way to the scene of the fire.
RIA Novosti, citing rescue teams, reported that four floors of the building are burning. "The work of firefighters is hampered by high temperatures and thick smoke," the report states.
Shortly after, the Mash channel reported that the fire area at the Platan Research Institute had increased to 25,000 square feet. "The fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth floors are burning. The people who leaned out of the windows to breathe disappeared in thick black smoke. Seventy-two rescuers and 24 equipment units, including lifting mechanisms, are extinguishing the fire," the statement reads.
