In Fryazino, near Moscow, Russia, a fire has broken out at the research institute "Platan," which specializes in producing electronic parts and radio components. According to Readovka, the fire has spread across several floors. "Thick black smoke is coming out of the windows. Witnesses report that people are trapped inside the building. Evacuation is underway," the statement reads.

As reported by the Baza channel, the fire started on the 4th and 5th floors of the building. According to the msk1.ru portal, people are trapped inside. The report states that the recording shows them waving from the windows of the building and calling for help, shouting that they are running out of air.

The research institute is known for producing electronic components and communication devices.

As quoted by RIA Novosti, rescue services reported that firefighters had begun a rescue operation on the upper floors of the burning Platan Research Institute building in Fryazino near Moscow.

According to the 112 channel, around 10 people are trapped on the 8th floor of the burning building.

Baza adds that at least one person has been injured. "Rescuers cannot reach the trapped people; firefighters are preparing a ladder. The fire has not yet been contained—the flames are spreading through the ceilings," it reads.

The region's governor and the director of the Ministry of Emergency Situations' regional unit are heading to the fire scene.
