Elton John's lasting legacy: Being a wonderful dad
Elton John, in a conversation with "People" magazine during the "Time" magazine awards, shared what he wants his tombstone to look like. The singer has requested a special inscription to be placed on it.
Throughout his career, Elton John has released over 30 albums and created hits like "Your Song," "I'm Still Standing," and "Rocket Man." He has often emphasized in interviews that musical achievements will never be the most important thing for him.
He considers creating a family his greatest achievement. Together with his husband, David Furnish, he is raising two sons: Zachary and Elijah. Elton John openly admits that fatherhood is his priority.
"My legacy is that I was a great husband and an even better father," he revealed on Good Morning America.
This is how Elton John envisions his tombstone
The 77-year-old singer openly admits that he seizes every day and enjoys life, yet he is aware of the passage of time. He does not shy away from difficult topics, and questions about the future, or even death, pose no difficulty for him.
In a chat with journalists from "People" magazine, he answered a question about his funeral. It turns out that the popular singer has made a decision regarding the appearance of his own tombstone. He wants a special inscription to appear on it.
"On my gravestone, all I want it to say is, 'He was a great dad,'" Elton John conveyed.
Despite health issues, the singer remains optimistic and continues to focus on his family. His dream about the tombstone is a symbolic emphasis on what is most important in life. As he himself stated:
"The most important thing to me in my life is making sure my children are happy, they have a wonderful life and that I was good to them. That's all that counts," added the singer.
