Elon Musk backs Germany's AfD in pivotal election rally
Over 4,000 people gathered in Halle, Germany, for the official campaign launch of the AfD. An unexpected guest appeared online at the rally: Elon Musk. He stated that the elections in Germany could decide the fate of Europe, "perhaps the fate of the world." He strongly encouraged voting for the AfD, saying it is a great hope for Germany.
During the AfD election rally in Halle, Elon Musk expressed his support for the party. The adviser to US President Donald Trump said the AfD is the "only party that can save Germany. Fight for a great future for Germany, Musk urged, receiving an ovation from AfD supporters.
"It is very important for people in Germany to be proud of being German," Musk stated, emphasizing that German culture is thousands of years old. He added that he read about Julius Caesar being "impressed" by the fighting spirit of the Germanic tribes.

Referring to Germany's Nazi past, he declared that "there is too much focus on past guilt, and we need to move beyond that" and that this should be fought against.
Musk contends that the current government neglects the well-being of the German nation and actively restricts freedom of expression. He stresses the importance of the AfD striving for greater self-determination for Germany and other European countries while reducing the influence of Brussels.
Musk said the German elections could decide the fate of Europe, "perhaps the fate of the world." He encouraged AfD supporters to convince friends and family to vote for the party. The future of civilization could depend on these elections, he declared.
After Musk's speech, the AfD leader and the party's candidate for chancellor, Alice Weidel, said: "People, did you hear that?" she stated.
In Halle, apart from AfD supporters, also about 8,000 opponents of the group appeared, deciding to demonstrate their dissatisfaction. The police brought in reinforcements from several regions to ensure safety. "So far everything is proceeding calmly," a local police spokesperson told the dpa agency.
