The toilet bowl is in constant contact with water, leading to the formation of stubborn limescale deposits that are difficult to remove. To restore its cleanliness and shiny appearance, it's worth using a specific trick. Often, toilet gels are not effective below the waterline, where limescale accumulates the most. However, this can be remedied with a homemade cleaning solution using ingredients available at home.

Vinegar and citric acid, known for dissolving limescale, may need support when deposits are in the nooks and crannies of the toilet. In this case, baking soda works well, as it becomes even more effective when combined with an acid.

The recipe for a homemade toilet descaler includes baking soda or baking powder, citric acid, water, and optionally, a fragrance oil.

Fifteen minutes and the problem is gone. Limescale in the bowl disappears

Combine 80 millilitres of baking powder or baking soda with 120 millilitres of citric acid, add a few drops of fragrance oil, and finish with water. Let the prepared mixture sit for a moment, then place it in a silicone mould and freeze for at least an hour.

Throw the hardened tablets into the toilet bowl for at least 15 minutes to effectively remove limescale and leave a pleasant scent. For more severe stains, the duration can be extended to 30 minutes. Once the process is complete, simply flush with water. Similar tablets can also be used to remove limescale from dishwashers and washing machines.
