Puff pastry is one of my favourite food products. It's easy to use and can be the foundation for an impressive variety of dishes. This versatile, wheat-based sheet has become an excellent partner in developing culinary creativity. The recipe for a tart with puff pastry and ground meat that I want to show you is, in my humble opinion, the best example of this.
Of course, the benefits of the tart prepared this way don’t end there. Puff pastry is known for being a versatile component at many gatherings. Ground meat wrapped in such a sheet can make a delightful snack at your next family event. So many benefits, so many possibilities! It's truly a dish for all occasions, isn't it?
The recipe is incredibly simple and flexible—you can tweak it to your liking by adding a few more ingredients, or, for example, giving the dish a spicy twist. Personally, I really like the simplicity presented below, but judge for yourself.
Puff pastry and ground meat tart
Ingredients:
- 1 package of puff pastry,
- 1 lb of ground meat,
- 1 onion,
- 1 zucchini,
- 2 cloves of garlic,
- Salt,
- Pepper,
- Dried marjoram,
- Olive oil.
For the top:
- 2 eggs,
- 100 grams of yellow cheese in a block,
- 200 millilitres of 18% cream.
Preparation method:
- First, bake the puff pastry. Line a tart pan with it, prick it with a fork (so it doesn't rise), and cover it with parchment paper. It's best to add some weight so the parchment holds the puff pastry in place. Place the prepared pastry in an oven preheated to 180°C (355°F) for about 12 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a small amount of fat, sauté the chopped onion and garlic, then add the zucchini.
- After a few minutes, add the ground meat and spices to the pan. Mix everything together, and when the meat is cooked, remove it from the heat.
- Spread the prepared filling on the previously pre-baked puff pastry.
- Crack the eggs into a bowl, mix them with the cream and grated cheese. Season with salt and pepper, mix, and pour over the ground meat in the puff pastry.
- Bake for 25 minutes at 180°C (355°F). Done!
