It is impossible to count the number of treasures Croatia has. Every town seems more beautiful than the last. But one thing is certain: the top destination at the moment is Cavtat. According to Croatian television Nova, it has been recognized as the most exclusive travel destination in Europe.

Located in Dalmatia, Cavtat has been compared to the French Saint-Tropez and the Italian Tuscany.

Admiration for the Croatian gem

"The picturesque, charming town is probably the most famous place in the Konavle region and is just 18 kilometres from the renowned Dubrovnik. The old town centre has many quaint cafes and restaurants tucked away. It’s no surprise that Cavtat ranked first on this year's list of most exclusive destinations in Europe," wrote the popular portal European Best Destinations, quoted by Croatian television Nova.

Officially, Cavtat is not a town but a village, yet it certainly does not lack atmosphere. Tourists and locals love to stroll along the promenade, where they can sit down for coffee or enjoy ice cream. The village also boasts historical landmarks such as the Church of St. Nicholas and the Rector's Palace. In the harbour, luxurious yachts are moored, impressing strolling tourists and indicating that Cavtat is a popular spot for the wealthy.

Close to Dubrovnik

Cavtat is located in southern Dalmatia in the Konavle municipality, about 19 kilometres from Dubrovnik. In the first seven months of this year, approximately 100,000 tourists visited this region, 6,000 more than last year, according to the Croatian National Tourist Board, cited by television Nova.
