  • Security forces killed at least 20 Venezuelan opposition members under President Nicolas Maduro during protests that swept the country following the announcement of the presidential election results on Monday.
  • U.S. President Joe Biden, in a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday, confirmed his support for Israel's defence against Iran and discussed U.S. military assistance, including the deployment of new U.S. forces.
  • Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a telephone conversation with his American counterpart Joe Biden, accused Israel of attempting to spread the war in the Gaza Strip to a larger area, according to Reuters.
  • Seven to ten people were killed in Nigeria on the first day of protests "against bad governance" when police used live ammunition and tear gas against demonstrators, Nigerian media reported.
  • Argentine services will use AI to predict crimes, reported the Spanish newspaper El Pais on Thursday. A specialized unit will have tools utilizing artificial intelligence and drones to maintain order on the internet and beyond.
