Joe Biden addressed the announcement from Kamala Harris, who revealed that Tim Walz would be her candidate for Vice President of the United States. "She made a great decision," stated the current President of the U.S.

"I am proud to announce that I have asked Tim Walz to be my vice-presidential candidate," Kamala Harris stated in a Tuesday post. President Joe Biden later addressed this information.

"The first important decision a party candidate makes is the choice of vice president. And Kamala Harris made a great decision by selecting Governor Tim Walz as her vice-presidential candidate," Biden wrote on the platform X.

Joe Biden: Harris and Walz will be defenders of democracy

As President Biden further explained, he has known Tim Walz for nearly two decades, first from his time in Congress and then as a governor. "As a husband and father, he was a schoolteacher and a high school football coach. He served for 24 years in the U.S. National Guard and became the highest-ranking soldier ever serving in Congress. As a governor, he has been a strong, principled, and effective leader," Biden listed.

"The Harris-Walz duo will be a powerful voice for working people and the American middle class. They will be the strongest defenders of our personal freedoms and democracy. And they will ensure America continues to lead the world and maintain its role as an indispensable nation," President Biden conveyed further in his post.

He also summarized that "the time has come for all Democrats—and really all Americans—who stand for freedom, democracy, and American leadership worldwide to unite behind Harris and Walz."

"Every generation of Americans faces a moment when they are called upon to defend American democracy. That moment has come now," Joe Biden concluded his remarks.

On Tuesday, Kamala Harris stated in a post on the platform X that she is "proud to announce that she has asked Tim Walz to be her vice-presidential candidate." "It's great to have him on the team," she added.

Tim Walz, in response to her decision, stated that "it is the greatest honour of his life." He also declared full commitment to the campaign before the presidential elections.
