Bentley Mulsanne shooting brake: A rare blend of power and luxury

Only 12 models of the Mulsanne "Shooting Brake" were produced. Perhaps it's just as well that no more were made.

An extremely luxurious station wagon is a scarce breed. It's no wonder this body shape isn't usually associated with luxury. However, there are exceptions, and the model presented here is one of them.

This is the Bentley Mulsanne Turbo "Shooting Brake," created by the British workshop Coway, which specializes in building and modifying custom car bodies. In the 1980s, Coway produced 12 Mulsanne models with station wagon bodies based on the standard sedan.

The aesthetics of this project are highly debatable, but one cannot deny its uniqueness. The peculiar character is further enhanced by its yellow-brown paint, which will catch the eye of anyone passing by.

Aside from the drawbacks, the obvious advantage of the 6.75-litre V8 engine under the hood is worth mentioning. It produces 385 horsepower and works with an automatic transmission.

The car has been put up for auction on Collecting Cars. Due to its unique character, it will likely find a new owner easily.
