Terrifying scenes occurred at a Russian circus. A brown bear attacked its trainer in front of children and adult spectators. The bear pinned the trainer to the floor, and the situation looked downright dramatic. The acrobat made a desperate attempt to free himself.

The dramatic incident occurred at a circus in Biysk, Russia. During the performance, in front of the audience, the female brown bear attacked its trainer, knocking him down and pinning him to the ground. The 48-year-old trainer made a desperate attempt to free himself from under the animal, which was biting the stick the trainer was using to shield himself.

According to the "Daily Mail," another circus employee joined in helping the bear trainer, prodding the animal with a stick from behind the barrier separating the audience from the stage.

This proved effective enough that the bear stepped back a little, allowing the 48-year-old to get up from the ground. The incident could have been fatal for the trainer, but thanks to his calmness, he managed to escape unscathed.

Even more surprising is that after the trainer stood up, the female bear began calmly following his commands. The terrifying scene did not end the performance; it continued. Nikita Mikhaylov, head of the Moretti circus, addressed the matter, emphasizing that the trainer acted appropriately.

He did not resist on purpose and waited for the bear to calm down, stood up, and continued. That's all; the show went on as usual, said the head of the circus.

It looked dramatic, but fortunately, no one was hurt

The circus owner assured that neither the trainer nor the bear was injured during the incident. He added that circus animals, although trained, can behave unpredictably and every trainer working with them understands this perfectly.

Although in many circuses in the West, it's increasingly rare to see wild animals in circuses, in Russia, it is still a common sight. Animal rights activists lament this, emphasizing that "the Russian circus lobby actively resists progress, defending its commercial interests".
