It is known which suitcase colours are the worst travel option. Choosing the wrong colour can make it challenging to identify your suitcase on the baggage carousel. Avoid these shades like the plague.

The most popular suitcase colours are considered to be black, grey, and blue. Choosing these or similar shades is the worst possible option because most travellers will likely make a similar decision. So, if you decide to check your luggage, expect complications at the pickup.

It's better to avoid suitcases in these colours

An accumulation of suitcases in similar colours will slow down the identification of your own baggage. Everyone will expect that the incoming suitcase will belong to them. In the worst case, someone might mistakenly take your suitcase.

Carriers uniformly advise passengers to avoid these colours, and if they choose them, they should mark them with some distinctive element. It's worth sticking a unique sticker on the baggage or attaching a colourful ribbon or handle.

The worst choice turns out to be black

The head of Frankfurt Airport, Stefan Schulte, even warned travellers to avoid black suitcases because they are hard to tell apart. “Many people travel with black suitcases on wheels which makes identifying them very time-intensive,” explained an airport spokesperson, quoted by The Sun.

Experts also advise paying attention to the material from which the suitcase is made. Those made from less hard material are easier to break during transport.
