Audi on the shore: Anger over tourists parking on Croatian beach

Convenience or sheer rudeness? It's unclear what motivated a group of Austrian tourists in Croatia to drive their white Audi right onto the beach, just by the water's edge, effectively making life difficult and obstructing the view for other tourists. The photo went viral on the Internet and sparked a wave of outrage.

A good spot on the beach is the foundation for a successful seaside vacation. Every sunbathing and sea-swimming enthusiast knows this.

However, sometimes, the need for personal comfort outweighs consideration for others and their needs. Photos from the Croatian beach illustrate this situation well. A group of Austrian tourists, without any regard for others, decided to park their car directly on the beach.

According to a local portal, the tourists parked their Audi just 10 cm from the sea on Slanica Beach near Biograd, one of the few publicly accessible beaches.

Other swimmers distanced themselves from them as much as possible. Who wants to lie on the beach next to a car?! - commented a shocked beachgoer in an interview with the portal 24sata.hr

The unruly tourists turned out to be two older women with two children. They laid out towels and an umbrella next to the car.

We were all in shock. The other swimmers took their things and moved as far away as possible. Who wants to sit on the beach next to a car?! Only an hour later did they decide to move the car – adds a disgusted reader.

He adds that apart from the women, every other beachgoer arriving by car parked further away, and people swimming in the sea practically begged the women to move their car.
