Assassination attempt on Trump sparks political blame game

Information is still emerging about the cause and the events of the assassination attempt on former U.S. President, Donald Trump. It is already known that Thomas Matthew Crooks, who pulled the trigger, had previously searched for information about events involving him and Joe Biden. However, the FBI has acquired even more information about him.

Authorities have still not determined the motives behind Thomas Matthew Crooks' actions. He himself was killed by Secret Service agents immediately after the failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

As investigators revealed some time ago, Crooks had searched online for information about major events involving both Trump and Joe Biden before attending Trump's campaign rally in Pennsylvania, where he shot at the Republican candidate for president. He had deemed that Trump's campaign rally in Pennsylvania would be a "good opportunity."

He made a significant effort to meticulously plan an attack on certain events, which means he looked at a large number of events or targets — stated Kevin Rojek, head of the FBI's Pittsburgh division.

Authorities analyzed Crooks' online activity and conveyed that although he was interested in various ideologies, it is difficult to pinpoint a specific left-wing or right-wing perspective. There is also no evidence indicating that Crooks may have collaborated with or been directed by "foreign forces."

At this moment, we are not ready to make definitive statements regarding Crooks' motive — Rojek noted.

20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks carried out the failed assassination attempt on Republican candidate Donald Trump on July 13 during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. He was shooting at him from a distance of just 135 metres. As a result of the failed attempt, he injured two people and killed one. He himself died at the scene, shot by Secret Service agents.

Assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Trump blames Harris and Biden

Donald Trump already has his own theory about who to blame for the assassination attempt on him. In his opinion, the cause lies with… the competition.

The attempt on me is to a certain extent Biden and Harris' fault — Donald Trump said in an interview aired on Wednesday at 8:00 PM ET.

According to the Republican candidate for President, the current administration, Biden and Harris, were not interested in his safety. Furthermore - they could have influenced the assassin through their rhetoric.
