Aspirin: The secret to sparkling white towels
Just one tablet added to the laundry is enough to make towels impeccably white. Although baking soda and vinegar are tried and tested methods, this simple trick might prove even more effective. During the winter season, almost everyone has this tablet at home.
Towels absorb moisture, dead skin cells, and impurities from the skin, which promotes the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms that can negatively impact our health. According to Super Express, experts recommend washing towels at least every two weeks and face towels even daily.
Sparkling white towels without bleach
In the past, towels were boiled to effectively kill bacteria. Today, modern washing machines handle dirt very well. It's worth remembering, however, to avoid using fabric softeners, as they make towels stiff and reduce absorbency. Instead, it's better to rely on proven home methods.
One of the lesser-known but very effective methods to restore towels to their pristine whiteness is using aspirin. Just dissolve one tablet in water and add it to the laundry. Aspirin has whitening properties that help remove grey residue and stains, while also softening fabrics.
Another method for clean towels is using table salt. Simply add four tablespoons of salt to the washing machine drum and set the appropriate wash cycle. Salt softens fabrics, neutralizes unpleasant odours, and removes stains. Additionally, it protects colours.
Here's the best laundry detergent
The price of a product does not always correspond to its quality. This also applies to laundry detergents. As we wrote in WP Finanse, the German foundation Stiftung Warentest conducted research on the effectiveness of laundry detergents.
The winning detergent did not come from a well-known manufacturer, but from a discount store. The best results were obtained by Tandil Ultra Plus, available at Aldi Nord.
The price of the most effective detergent is about $5.11 for a 2 kg package. In Poland, it can be purchased from online stores with imported chemicals, where the cost of a 2 kg package is around $9.56.
