When travelling by plane, it's worth looking closely around the cabin. You might notice something interesting. Many tourists pay attention to small holes in airplane windows, which play an important role.
As it turns out, airplane windows are designed to mitigate pressure differences between the interior of the aircraft and the outside environment. Small holes regulate interior pressure, making the journey more comfortable for passengers. Additionally, the holes allow moisture to escape from the cabin, preventing window fogging.
Mysterious triangles in the windows
There are small black triangles above some windows on both the right and left sides of the plane, which tourists notice less frequently. You have to be observant to spot them. We managed to notice them on a Swiss Air flight. Now, we explain the secret of the black triangles.
Expert reveals
In short, the triangular marks indicate the best vantage points for viewing the airplane's wings.
Some commercial airplanes have such triangles, usually two, sometimes four. One on each side at the level of the leading and trailing edge of the wings indicates the two points where the crew has the best view of the wings during visual inspection. This means they do not have to search long for the right window in the cabin, explained an expert from Lufthansa in an interview with the German newspaper Bild.
Tourists can sit in rows where the triangles are located, just like at any other seat. They can be sure their view of the airplane wings is the best, making any recordings and photos of the views exceptional.
