A different perspective: Russian and Ukrainian views on war
Since the beginning of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, many people have wondered how Russians can fail to see the horrors of the ongoing war and not oppose it. A video posted on the portal X eloquently demonstrates that Russians do indeed see all this, although they view it quite differently than we do.

On the Technicznybdg profile on portal X, a snippet of a conversation between a Ukrainian and a Russian woman was posted, which shows how differently the ongoing war is perceived. The video begins with the woman saying that a man close to her, visible in the film, "defended himself" by killing Ukrainians. "What was he defending himself against?" asks the surprised Ukrainian. The Russian woman then states that Ukrainians "also kill Russians," which immediately meets with the clear response: "Because you came to our house."
At one point, the Ukrainian asks his interlocutor if she would decide to kill an intruder if a murderer broke into her home. He reminded her that Ukrainians kill Russian soldiers because they entered their home, their country. He asked if Ukrainians have the right to do so in such a situation. A soldier sitting next to him answered affirmatively to his question.
"I can't think right now," said the woman, who with each subsequent word seemed more and more lost and terrified. These strong emotions are particularly visible on her face when she hears that the detained Russian soldier faces a 14-year prison sentence related to at least 4 charges. "Can I not say anything?" she asks resignedly, covering her face.
An avalanche of comments under the post
A lot of comments appeared under the video, in which netizens do not hide their anger and outrage. Many of them look in disbelief at the way Russians think. "It is evident that even for them, it is slowly, but very slowly sinking in what kind of mess they got into," stated one of the netizens.
Not everyone believes that the Russian woman in the video understood the interlocutor's argument. In their opinion, her emotions were related to the fact that her partner faces many years in prison. "Their narrative is that they are 'liberating their lands,' and not attacking. I doubt she understood; she is likely in shock that he will spend 14 years in prison," points out another commenter.
